The February 2014 meeting of the Madison DX Club was held on Tuesday the 11th at Green Lantern in McFarland, WI.
The meeting was called to order by President Ted – K9IMM at 7:00 PM. Ten members attended.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the January meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Financial Statement of Account for the general fund as of January 17, 2013 was read and approved.
Committee Reports:
– DX Report. Jim – KE9ET reported YW0A – Aves Island coming in March, Jim – W9GL reported 5I0DX Tanzania and TO7CC Reunion Island on now.
– Repeater. Ted – K9IMM: Repeater operating well.
– Packet Cluster. Ted – K9IMM: W9BG is working.
– Website. Ted – K9IMM: Website is working.
– Email. Ted – K9IMM: e-mail reflector is working, increased the allowed # of cc’s to two.
– Scholarship. Ted – K9IMM: No updates since last month’s report.
General and Member Information:
Ted – K9IMM reported 16 MDXC members are now on
ClubLog, and we have a “Madison DX Club” Leaderboard of our own.
Lloyd – N9LB has his 25 year old ITT Mackay amplifier running after almost a year of refurbishment.
John – N9EM has a new 80 meter antenna, put it up when it was extra cold so it works extra FB.
Ted – K9IMM reported that one quarter of the twenty W1AW/9 – Wisconsin operators for the “ARRL Centennial On Air Celebration”
operators are MDXC members: K9IMM, N9CK, N9LB, W4PAH, and W9PN.
Old Business:
Jim – W9GL and Gari – NG9V reported to the club about options for the MDXC Spring Banquet.
Provided that there will be no room rental charge, the membership voted to hold the event at the Maple Tree in McFarland the evening of April 19th.
Ted – K9IMM updated the members about the sponsorship request by the organizers of a proposed FT/T – Tromelin Island Expedition later this year.
The Tromelin Island Expedition request was tabled another month in the hope that they will have finalized their plans before we consider this request.
