The November 2014 meeting of the Madison DX Club was held on Tuesday the 11th at Fitzgerald’s in Middleton.
The meeting was called to order by President Ted - K9IMM at 7:00 PM.
Fourteen members and two guests, Bonnie - W9BJB and Gary - K9AY attended.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the October meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Financial Statement of Account for the general fund as of October 17, 2014 was read and approved.
Committee Reports:
– DX Report… Jim - KE9ET: VU4CB – Nicobar QRV now as a small IOTA event, that same team will be relocating to
– DX Report… Jim - KE9ET: Andaman & Nicobar Islands with a large team of operators and running as VU4KV from November 15 to 30.
– DX Report… Jim - KE9ET: A one man DXpedition to 3Y0 - Bouvet is in the works for late next year.
– DX Report… Jim - KE9ET: Many semi-rare DX entities will be QRV for the CQWW-CW contest the last week of November.
– Repeater… Ed - N9MW: Repeater operating well.
– Packet Cluster… Ed - N9MW: W9BG is operating well.
– Website… Ed - N9MW: Website is operating well.
– Email… Ted - K9IMM: MDXC and SWAP e-mail reflectors are operating well.
– Scholarship… Ed - N9MW: Letters for 2015 scholarships will be going out to High Schools soon. This year’s scholarship committee is: Tim - WO9U, Ron - W9POF, and Ed - N9MW.
General and Member Information:
Doug - W9PN has a new K9AY antenna up, reports that it is working well.
Jim - K9ELF has a new RM Italy HLA-150 solid state amplifier to go with his FLEX-1500 QRP rig, reports that it is working well.
Ted - K9IMM has his upgraded 160 meter antenna working FB and is ready for the winter DX season.
Ted - K9IMM operated in the CQWW-SSB contest, made 1900 Qs, 500 band countries, 3.2 million points including an unusually high number of Asian contacts this year.
Old Business:
The new Southern Wisconsin SWAP e-mail reflector is up and running.

There is no cost to either sellers or buyers for this service, operating costs are being covered by MDXC general fund.
MDXC members got our money’s worth from the recent FT4TA – DXpedition.
New Business:
Ed - N9MW made a motion to donate $100 to the upcoming K1N ( KP1 ) - Navassa DXpedition. Lloyd - N9LB seconded it.
A discussion followed and it was voted on by the membership and approved to finance it.
Lloyd - N9LB made a final call for renewals of MDXC membership for the 2014-2015 year!

By a vote of the membership, Fitzgerald’s in Middleton will be our new semi-permanent meeting location.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.
Following the business meeting, a program demonstrating the new N1MM-PLUS logger was presented by Ted - K9IMM.
